Welcome!

Have you ever felt alone as a special needs mom?  Do you long for a group of women that you can connect with are share your life puzzle with them?  If you have answered yes to those questions, sister, pull up a seat, because you are welcome at this table!!

Here at Faith & Friends at Frisco Bible Church, you will find a safe and healing space to connect, learn, share and be reminded that there is no label that can ever keep you from being loved, and we are thrilled that you are here!

Hi! My name is Belinda Effa and I am married to my Ben, and together we have 4 children!  When I was 20 weeks pregnant with our second son, we were told that our unborn child had a rare brain disorder called Holoprosencephaly.  We were told that our son had no quality of life and that the best solution to our problem would be to terminate the pregnancy. BUT GOD!! Here we are 10 years later, and our son is thriving.  But that does not mean that this journey we have been on has been an easy one.  There have been so many times when I felt completely alone and wanted just one friend to understand what it was like to be in my shoes.   The Lord placed a burden on my heart to cultivate a space for women where they can come and be understood, encouraged, and supported!  God led me to Labeled&Loved and I am thrilled to see what He will do!

Jordan FanninJordanFannin

Hi Friend, I’m glad you are here. My name is Jordan Fannin and I am married to Jered, we have 3 wild and crazy boys. My oldest 2 are twins and both have ADHD while one also is Autistic. When we received our diagnosis I, like most, dove into research and how to parent this type of child. I quickly realized I didn’t need another book but instead I needed a mom, a friend, a sister to lean on. Each one of our children are different and when you add a diagnoses on top there becomes no clear path of how to parent that child. You can read all the books but at the end of the day having a friend to walk the journey with, to laugh and cry with, and to provide a comforting hug is more valuable than any book. God showed me the gapping hole of support in our community for parents of label children and I am so thankful to have the opportunity to create a local community through Labeled and Loved!

Hello and welcome to our Sisterhood Circle at Springs Trauma Center. Springs Trauma Center is a trauma-focused therapy practice that offers an eclectic dynamic of counselors who want to help support their community and help others on their healing journey. Spear-headed by one of those very therapists, Labeled & Loved is being welcomed into the heart of the vision of Springs Trauma Center and help improve the lives of those we serve who will inturn, positively impact their families and communities. We will meet every 3rd Tuesday of the month of October through May.

Janet Hise Finan is a Colorado native but has lived in many places as a former military child. Janet has worked in the social work field for over 15 years, helping individuals and families from birth through death, from working early education, such as Head Start, as well as hospice and palliative care. Her main focus during her career has been adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, in this system Janet has held positions from direct care through the director and administrative levels, which directly helps her take a more well-rounded approach to her role as a therapist, and a mother.

Janet is also a parent of a child with specialized needs. Her daughter was diagnosed with Atypical Rett Syndrome later than most kiddos receive their diagnosis, so she spent many years navigating her needs in the dark. As her daughter is dubbed a unicorn and "doesn't look disabled" she has made it a mission to educate her community, advocate for other families, and embrace the title of a special needs mom to help heal the world a little more. While labels are forever a part of this world, Janet wants to show the world that our children are more than a label, and deserve all the love.

Alisha is a mom of two wonderful girls, both with their diverse dynamics and sassy attitudes. Her oldest was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome after Alisha fought for many years to gain a diagnosis for her daughter, so they could gain the medical devices and services that her daughter desperately needed. While her daughter is non-verbal and wheelchair-bound, that doesn't limit her from spending time at her favorite place, with the horses, and experiencing homeschooling in her community, visiting goats, going to community centers, and enjoying all that Colorado Springs has to offer. Alisha  is forever thankful for the connections that being a part of Labeled & Loved has brought her.

Welcome to your Memphis Sisterhood Circle! We hope this becomes a place where you are known and supported and can have a lot of fun!

My name is Amanda Morris and I am so excited to be leading a Sisterhood Circle this year. I participated in the pilot group here in Memphis last year, met so many wonderful women, learned helpful things, and felt seen and supported. I hope to be able to offer that to more women this year.

I'm married to my high school sweetheart and we have two daughters - seven and two. Our seven year old has a genetic deletion and many developmental delays. While there may be many things that look different for her, and our parenting journey, it helps me to notice the similarities and find joy in the small things. Sisterhood Circles help remind me that while our 'normal' may not look like everyone else's, there are women who understand. We hope you will join us!

Upload your headshotKris BenassiKrisBenassi
My name is Kris Benassi.  I participated in the 23/24 Memphis Sisterhood Circle.  Moms' groups have been an integral part of my life since becoming a parent.  The Sisterhood Circle speaks to my heart deeply as the women and mission validate and support the uniqueness of being a mom of girls with diagnoses. I want to support moms in their journeys through the Sisterhood Circle.
My 13-year-old and 11-year-old daughters are AuDHD.  My oldest is moderately-severely deaf and wears hearing aids and my youngest is dyslexic, celiac and has chronic health issues.  They are also inquisitive, super interesting, funny, quirky, kind and themselves.  Being their mom is my greatest honor.  I just can't do it well without support.  Support can look like a hug, a smile, advice, laughter, a 'been there done that' story, a new way of processing something or parenting something.... Sisterhood Circle offers all of that and more!

Welcome! Our hope is to offer a safe place for connection and support for moms of children with special needs in our community. Reminding one another we are not alone.

Hi and welcome! My name is Emily and I live in Friendswood, Texas with my husband and three spirited children, Hayes and Bailey (14) and Brenham (11). I was born in Ft. Worth, and grew up in Colorado Springs, CO. So I am a Texas girl by birth and Colorado girl by heart! I believe we serve a good, sovereign, faithful God and faith makes things possible not easy. This belief was never challenged more than when our twins were born premature at 24 weeks. Spending 5 months in the NICU, with 4 surgeries, two hospital transfers, too many infections to count and one diagnosis of meningitis. Little did we know this would be just the beginning. The beginning of more surgeries, more hospital stays, more therapies and more diagnosis. The beginning of a new life — a life unexpected. But we are not alone, I am not alone. I hope you find a piece of that truth in this group.

Colorado Springs Sisterhood Circles was founded in 2023 to create a welcoming and supportive environment for special needs moms. In our circles, messy moments are embraced, stories and scars are shared openly, and no label stands in the way of being loved. Our sisterhood offers a safe space where special needs moms can connect in small groups, learn valuable tools to prevent caretaker burnout, and build lasting, meaningful friendships. That’s the true power of our circle.

Janelle Evangelides is a wife, mom, and graphic designer. She has been married to her husband Jon for 15 years, and they have two children, ages 10 and 7. After years of searching for answers, Janelle’s son Ryker was diagnosed with Developmental Delay and Speech Delay at the age of 2, he was then diagnosed in 2023 with Autism and ADHD, and her daughter also has ADHD. With over 20 years of experience in mental health and Women’s Ministry, Janelle has led a variety of groups, including co-leading the Labeled and Loved Colorado Springs Chapter in 2023. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends, crafting, photography, painting, and relaxing with a hot cup of coffee and a good book.

With 15 years of experience in the special needs community, she has been deeply involved since her oldest son received his first diagnosis at the age of two. He now faces multiple medical complexities that significantly impact their daily lives. Her youngest son also has severe ADHD and other medical challenges. For years, Christine struggled with feelings of isolation despite having supportive friends and family. She longed for a connection with others who truly understood her day-to-day experiences. This changed when she discovered Labeled and Loved, an organization that gave her a sense of purpose and belonging. Since the spring of 2024, Christine has had the privilege of serving as one of the co-leaders of the Colorado Springs chapter. In her free time, Christine enjoys savoring a good cup of coffee, working on her crafting side business, spending time with friends and family, and listening to great music.

Welcome mommas to Faith and Friendship! Having a special needs kids is hard but finding a group of women to walk along side you, pray for you and be there as you climb mountains and navigate valleys is something we all pray for. We will join together every month to connect, pray and talk about how God is working in our lives. No matter where you are with your faith, this is a safe place to ask questions and be vulnerable. We have all had a different journey with our walk but we are all here because we have a few things in common, our belief in God and our special needs children. I can't wait to connect with you all this year. No matter where you are in your walk with your faith, we are all in this together. I'm praying this group is exactly what you need.

Welcome to Sisterhood Circle-Fort Bend! We have met so many moms that feel they don't have a tribe of women that understand their lives. Our walk is often lonely and overwhelming, leaving little time or energy to connect. We hope to help form a safe community where women can develop authentic bonds and walk through life together, navigating our ups and downs. Our wish is that you will leave our meetups feeling hopeful, inspired, recharged, motivated, and most of all supported.

Hi, my name is Melody DiPasca and I am thrilled to be starting up a Sisterhood Circle here in Fort Bend along with my good friend, Amanda Bullock. I have been married for 13 years and have 2 beautiful boys. My youngest son is on the autism spectrum and was also recently diagnosed with ADHD as well.  I'm a full time working momma trying to juggle life, home, school, therapy, and everything else that comes our way.  In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, volunteering, and walking when time allows. I have a heart and passion to help others on this special needs journey.  Giving hope and support to others is what brings me joy the most.

Currently I work part-time at my youngest's preschool and the rest of my week is occupied with an unexpected homeschool journey. Outside of my family, my happy place is gardening, traveling, listening to audiobooks and being outside as much as Houston weather will allow.

Welcome to Our Village

You’ve found a safe place where understanding hearts and strong shoulders come together. Whether you’re navigating a new diagnosis, celebrating small victories, or just needing someone who gets it, you belong here. This group is a judgment-free space created by and for moms raising children with unique needs—because no one should walk this journey alone. Here, we share resources, listen without fixing, lift each other up, and remind one another that we are strong, we are seen, and we are never alone.

Welcome home, Mama. We’re so glad you’re here.

Welcome!  We can’t wait to meet (and hug!) all of you.

A So Cal native, we moved to North Texas nine years ago when my husband’s work relocated us to the Lone Star State.  I’m a mom to two tweens and an almost one year old pup we adopted a few months ago.
The kids keep me very busy, as well as trying to keep the dog from eating something else he shouldn’t be eating.  But when I get some free time, I love to read, catch up with friends, and try to plan our next adventure.

Welcome moms! I started this local circle to provide a space where we could gather to support one another while navigating life's challenges.

I am looking forward to meeting you.

I am the mom of an 18-year-old daughter with several diagnoses, including a traumatic brain injury. She came to us when she was 14 months old, and we were blessed with the opportunity to adopt her when she was 2.5.

My husband and I fostered several children with various disabilities. I am a former special education teacher for children in grades K-2 with autism. I am passionate about serving children with disabilities and their families.

In my free time, I volunteer with CASA of Williamson County, Austin Angels, Yesterday's Gone and now Labeled and Loved. I have an addiction to all things craft, especially painting, love traveling with my family, and spending quality time with friends.

I am so grateful you are here. This group is so dear to my heart because, like you, I walk this same path. I know the sleepless nights, the overwhelming appointments, the battles fought for our children, and the silent prayers whispered when no one else sees the weight we carry. I also know the fierce love, the unmatched strength, and the unshakable faith that make us the women and mothers we are today.

This space was created to remind us that we are not alone. Here, we can lean on one another, share our stories, lift each other up on the hard days, and celebrate every victory no matter how big or small. Together, we can grow stronger, wiser, and braver, because there is nothing more powerful than mamas standing hand in hand, walking the same road with compassion and understanding.

So take a deep breath, Mama you’ve found your village.  Let’s band together, encourage one another, and walk this journey side by side. We are stronger together, and with God’s grace, we will keep pressing forward in love, faith, and hope.

I’m Kristan Orman, wife to a dedicated local police officer and mama to four beautiful children who keep my world spinning. By trade, I’m a social worker, and pouring into others is not just my career, it’s part of who I am. Helping people and standing in the gap for them is what gives me purpose and strength to keep pushing through each day. If you’re looking for me, chances are you won’t find me at home (and definitely not asleep!). Instead, you’ll usually catch me at the school, in church, serving in the community, at appointments advocating, or cheering from some bleachers. Sports play a big role in our family, and football isn’t just a season, it’s a way of life.  Go Tigers! My son Kylan is my unique child and you will soon learn all about him!

Life is busy, messy, and beautiful, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Hi Momma’s! We are so glad you’re here and can’t wait to connect, share and grow with you!

Hello! I’m Jessica Baxter!

I’m a mom to a brave and beautiful daughter who came into this world as a micro-preemie and continues to inspire me every day as she thrives on the spectrum. Walking this journey has grown my faith and given me a deep passion for supporting others, reminding them of their strength and potential. I love connecting with families, giving back through community outreach, and finding joy in both the big and small moments—whether it’s traveling, enjoying live music, or having living room dance parties with my daughter. I believe God has given us a story that can bring hope and encouragement to others, and I feel blessed to walk alongside this community.

Sabrina is a special needs mom of two children on the spectrum of Autism—one with higher medical needs and the other requiring more mental health support. When her kids were diagnosed, she felt isolated and alone, lacking guidance on how to help them or even how to support herself in taking the next steps. It has become Sabrina's passion to assist other moms and families by sharing her experiences in navigating the Medicaid system and utilizing community resources to ensure they are happy, healthy, and thriving. Through this journey, Sabrina has become a CNA, a registered IEP education advocate, and a disability resources guru. Finding “Labeled in Love” has connected her with her tribe—women who understand the challenges of being a parent of special needs children without needing any explanation. This tribe provides Sabrina with love, compassion, and support, and those hugs are the greatest gift she could receive or give. Their monthly discussions create a safe space where they can talk about the difficulties they face daily, reinforcing the knowledge that they are not alone. In her free time, she enjoys art, theatre, music, reading, volunteering  helping others, and swimming.

I’ve been volunteering with Labeled and Loved since 2001, I used to lead Sisterhood Circles via Zoom and I really enjoyed the friendships and conversations that I had with other Moms that just get it.

I recently moved back to the  RGV and realized that our community needs something like this.

I honestly started doing it because I seeked friendship and resources and it’s been a great way for me to remind myself of my worth.

Can’t wait to Circle with you!!

Hi, I’m Julia Rivera Reyes, your Support Sister!

I live in the Rio Grande Valley with my amazing husband, Joel, and our sweet daughter, Jessa (11). Our older daughter, Nichole (24), is living her best life in Seattle, WA with her husband and their daughter.

Jessa is our Rainbow Baby—diagnosed with Severe Nonverbal Autism and Sensory Processing Disorder at 3, and later with IDD, ADHD, and Anxiety. She's our world, and being her mom is the greatest blessing, even though the journey isn't always easy. But I’ve learned to find joy in every step.

After more than 20 years in the Austin area, my family and I relocated back to the RGV to start preparing for Jessa's future. We’re focused on building a community and creating resources for her and others in our hometown—back to our roots.

I LOVE all things GOOD: GOD, FOOD, PEOPLE, ADVICE, and GREAT DEALS.

I've been a Virtual Support Sister with Labeled and Loved since the very beginning. This organization has been a true blessing, and I’m so grateful for the friends I’ve made along the way. Now, I’m excited to build a strong community here in the RGV!

My name is Nora Rivera Cookinham. I was born in Brownsville, Texas, and spent ten wonderful years growing up in Oxnard, California before returning to Brownsville, where I later graduated. I am happily married, a proud mother of two, and a devoted grandmother to six beautiful grandchildren, with whom I cherish spending my free time.

I recently retired from a fulfilling career as a medical office specialist, where I had the privilege of managing a pediatric rehabilitation facility. Working closely with such special children was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.

In retirement, I enjoy cooking, fishing, and gardening—activities that bring me peace and joy. I'm excited to begin a new chapter as a co-leader alongside my niece in this amazing community, and I look forward to contributing with passion and purpose.

Welcome, sweet Momma! We know the road of raising a child with special needs can feel heavy at times, but here you will find a community of women who truly understand. This is a safe place to lay down the weight of isolation, to be encouraged in your own faith, and to be reminded that you are not alone in this journey. Our heart is to walk alongside you, to pray with you, and to point you back to the hope and strength only God can provide as you love and care for your child.

Because of our own experiences, we have a deep heart for supporting other special needs Mommas. We know firsthand how isolating, overwhelming, and exhausting the days can feel—but we also know the beauty, joy, and purpose that can be found when we lean on God’s promises and on each other. Our desire is to walk alongside other Mommas, encouraging them with faith, prayer, and hope, and reminding them that they are never alone.

Hi, I'm Kristen, or you may also call me Kris. I’m a mom to two incredible children with special needs. They have taught me more about strength, patience, and unconditional love than I could have ever imagined. My son Bryan is 17 and high-functioning autistic. He has such a unique perspective on the world, and his gentle heart reminds me daily of the beauty in God’s design and of Jesus' love. My daughter Rylee is 7, and though she faces the challenges of cerebral palsy and a vision impairment, her joyful spirit, resilience, and determination shine as a testimony of God’s grace and strength. Our journey hasn’t always been easy, but through every challenge, God has shown me His faithfulness and reminded me that He equips us for the path He places us on.

Hi, I’m Corrinne but all my friends and family call me Corrie! I’m a proud mom to a spirited 3-year-old daughter and a sweet 5-month-old son. My husband, Nick, is a firefighter and truly my rock as we navigate the ups and downs of parenting together.

I discovered Labeled and Loved while searching for support and community as we begin the journey of therapies and seeking answers for our son. Even though our circle hasn’t started yet, I already feel such a sense of hope knowing that God has gone before us in this, preparing a space for moms and caregivers to walk alongside one another.

My prayer is that this circle becomes a place where we can lean on each other, be reminded of God’s promises, and find encouragement in knowing we are never walking this journey alone.
