| Your HUB Introduction | Welcome to Our Village You’ve found a safe place where understanding hearts and strong shoulders come together. Whether you’re navigating a new diagnosis, celebrating small victories, or just needing someone who gets it, you belong here. This group is a judgment-free space created by and for moms raising children with unique needs—because no one should walk this journey alone. Here, we share resources, listen without fixing, lift each other up, and remind one another that we are strong, we are seen, and we are never alone. Welcome home, Mama. We’re so glad you’re here. |
| Your Bio (Hub Leader) | Janet Hise Finan is a Colorado native but has lived in many places as a former military child. Janet has worked in the social work field for over 15 years, helping individuals and families from birth through death, from working early education, such as Head Start, as well as hospice and palliative care. Her main focus during her career has been adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, in this system Janet has held positions from direct care through the director and administrative levels, which directly helps her take a more well-rounded approach to her role as a therapist, and a mother. Janet is also a parent of a child with specialized needs. Her daughter was diagnosed with Atypical Rett Syndrome later than most kiddos receive their diagnosis, so she spent many years navigating her needs in the dark. As her daughter is dubbed a unicorn and "doesn't look disabled" she has made it a mission to educate her community, advocate for other families, and embrace the title of a special needs mom to help heal the world a little more. While labels are forever a part of this world, Janet wants to show the world that our children are more than a label, and deserve all the love. |

| Co-Leader Name | Alisha Parra-Munoz |
| Co-Leader Bio | Alisha Parra-Munoz is a proud mom of two wonderful girls, each with their own unique personalities and sassy spirit. Her oldest daughter was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome after years of advocacy, persistence, and determination to access the medical support and services her daughter needed. Though non-verbal and wheelchair-bound, her daughter thrives—enjoying time with horses, homeschooling adventures, community center outings, goat visits, and everything Colorado Springs has to offer. Alisha is deeply grateful for the support and connection she’s found through Labeled & Loved, which has been a meaningful part of her journey as a special needs parent. She is currently pursuing her degree in Social Work, with a passion for helping other families navigate similar paths with strength, compassion, and community. |
